Chawowo ẹla ochiche ká, like it is too phoney to be real!!!
Most times, you save yourself a lot of negative energy when you leave people to their opinions and judgements. They cannot harm you in any way certainly–of truth, their understanding is faulty and not yours, and they have the freedom to be wrong.
Every adult is free to be ignorant, but it becomes an issue when you cunningly want to consecrate or make holy or canonise your faulty perspective and force it down our throat. A particular action is not a sin because you hate it or are not interested in it; it is only a sin when it is against the word of God. Paganism is defined in relation to God and not human dislikes.
It is unwholesome as Christians to wave off a celebration without thorough investigation and in-depth analysis of the theological stand. According to Sophocles “Quick decisions are unsafe decisions, and how dreadful knowledge of the truth can be when there is no help in truth”.
As I enjoy my Igede Agba pounded yam and follow it with either Apyọọ, ogbeete or Akụrwụ, I will, in a relaxed mood, be reading Romans 14:1-10.
Happy Igede Agba celebration on 5th September 2022.
