  1. OPENING THOUGHT:

When a group of people live in a particular place and they desire to work in harmony; three things will assist them achieve that. 1.Talking or communicating with each other by speaking the same language. 2. Having the same ideas about how to do things, and also thinking that the same things are important, which means having the same culture. 3. Having good social relationship between people and having good interaction with their environment.

  1. IGEDE PROVERBS:

Proverbs cannot be fully appreciated without first seeing some background information of the people who coin and use them. Proverbs are important aspect of Igede vocabulary and their meanings are not easily comprehensible, especially at the surface level. A look at the different meaning derivable from proverbs- the literal, the philosophical and contextual meaning is vital. A look at the semantics and pragmatics of Igede proverbs as they represent Igede people’s world-view is also key.
