BENUE SOUTH SENATE: BARR JACOB AJENE BENCHING FRONTLINERS FROM BEHIND

Updated: Jun 28, 2022

By Smith Akoko | May 19, 2022

In a build-up to party primary elections for various political offices, many qualified Igede indigenes came out with mouth-watering articles on social media platforms. Myekeemedia did an unedited collection of some articles found on Facebook in May 2022.

Barr Jacob Ajene is the latest name to be associated with the Benue South Senatorial seat. Surprisingly, he is such force as the proverbial last straw that breaks the camel’s back, working his fingers to the bone with the shortest delay after obtaining the APC’s nomination form and garnering incredible support.

Barr Ajene, or rather Barr (Prince) Ajene, known otherwise as BOJACO, an acronym for Barr Obande Jacob Ajene Campaign Organization, became a frequently mentioned name in the political landscape of the state since his grand foray into the Oju/Obi Reps tussle in 2011, when the name was first a song whose rhythm hitherto enjoys the classic dance steps of old and young.

Ajene’s ambition has reportedly forced fears into the camps of the incumbent, and it is not so for nothing. Should BOJACO be given the ticket of the APC, which is a deep-rooted possibility, PDP would be in for a terribly tough contest. Though Sen. Abba Moro, who seems likely to clinch the PDP’s ticket, may not be a soft nut to crack, indications are that the Igede-born lawyer and business tycoon will not be dealing weak blows. That is as bloc votes from Oju and Obi look to cement the increasingly overwhelming goodwill of his mother’s kinsmen in Idomaland.

Recall Dr Isaac Akwuma Egboja earlier backed out of the race to hand Ajene’s ambition a striking boost. May 25th may not be without the two-time aspirant and several others collapsing their structures into the formidable force of this consensus candidate from Igede that the late riser may bench the erstwhile frontliners to claim the ticket in styles, for BOJACO is no fighter to underrate in the Benue South political ring.
