CHIEF (AMB.) JOSEPH AJAH ONAHPROFILE OF IGEDE'S NEW OJIKPURURU




The Igede Intermidiate Area Traditional Council at the 2022 Igede Agba Festival inducted Chief Ajah Joseph Onah to her hall of fame with a High Chieftaincy title of Ojikpururu of Igede Kingdom conferred on him.


Chief (Amb.) Joseph Ajah Onah of a humble background, by deeds wears an uncommon garment of generosity, peace, unity and love for humanity.


Chief Amb. Joseph Onah, a community developer, an uncommon philanthropist, a world-class administrator par excellence, the President and Founder of Aid Life Foundation (ALF) who has time without number received multi-modal accolades as rewards of his extraordinary milestones is a Regional Director of Total Success World (TSW) Group of Company in Francophone West Africa and Central America Sub Region.


In a few couple of years back, he was conferred revered Chieftaincy titles of Ojikpururu 1 of Amono Kingdom and Nanan Assomoli of vory Coast. The former means the shelter of people, while the later means the Lion of the young people of Ivory Coast. Relatedly, Chief Joseph Onah is a double Ambassador of Peace received from two different organisations.


Chief Amb. Joseph Onah was born in late 70s with hoe and cutlass at hands into the family of late Mr. Aaron Onah Okwa of Ochodu-Ukpa, Oju LGA, Benue State, Nigeria. However, his determination to acquire Western education and restraint the poverty ice has broken his background jinx and hurdles.


In 1986, he began his rudimentary Education at Ukpa North Primary School, Ochodu-Ukpa where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1991; and secondary education at Government Secondary School, Oju between 1992 and1998.


Chief Amb. Joseph Onah stepped further to the Plateau State Polytechnic in 2002 to study accountancy where he bagged his National Diploma in 2004.


He struggled further and gained admission into the prestigious Fidei Polytechnic, Gboko in 2010 where he obtained his Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy in 2012 with excellent results.


Having fulfilled the prescribed conditions of the institution, he was mobilised for his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the same 2012, notwithstanding exempted due to his engagements with the International Company.


Chief (Amb.) Joseph Onah started his job career as an Independent Marketing Agent between 1999 and 2001 and currently the Regional Director, Francophone West African/Central Africa Sub-Region.


Chief Joe Ajah is not the type of a leader who believes in insatiable achievements at the expense of the needy. While he climbs the leadership and success ladder, Chief Joe usually looks back to those behind him by rendering services of succours, scholarships, community development initiatives and benevolent hands to downtrodden, youths and widows through his foundation. A few of his milestones within the recent time include:


1. Graded Etu-Onyohu, Ihigile Ochodu-Ukpa Center and Ogengeng Phase one Roads in 2021


2. Constructed Ubwo Bridge linking Ochodu-Ebonda-Ohuma Ukpa and Ogengeng Phase One Culvert in 2021


3. Over the years supported uncountable needy and given empowerments to the widows, youths and adults, and scholarships to indigents.


4. Sank boreholes in Ochodu community and in Oju metropolis.


5. Engagement in community, school and Church projects. Eg. Oka, MCN Ochodu, etc.


6. Digitalised Ukpa Community Secondary School, Ukpa Centre in 2018 through donation of 10 computer sets with over 5 interactive whiteboards;


7. Settled hospital bills of many vulnerable and ailing citizens;


8. Donated aids, palliatives and relief packages to orphanages and IDPs and occasionally visit hospitals to settle bills irrespective of blood affinity.


9. The list goes unlimited.


These acts of benevolent achievements earned Chief Joe different accolades awarded by various institutions, communities and unions. Some of which include:


1. Two times Awards of Youth Empowerment by the Igede National Youth Council of Nigeria (INYCN);

2. Award of Philanthropy and Human Capital Development by the National Union of Igede Students (NUIS).


3. Nigerian Distinguished Humanitarian Personality of Repute in recognition of his Contributions and Commitments to Education, Leadership, Diligent in Service Delivery, Honesty and

Peaceful Coexistence by the Merit Time International Award in 2019.


4. Peace Ambassador in recognition of his tireless contribution towards promotion of peace through humanitarian services and philanthropic Assistance given to the less privileged by the African Youth Assembly for Peace (AYAP) in 2019.


5. Merit Award in recognition of his Philanthropic Spirit and Service to humanity by the Iyeche community in November 2020.


6. Assomoli of Ivory Coast, meaning the Lion of the Young People of Ivory Coast. A Chieftaincy Title bestowed on Chief Joe in 2018 by the Youth of the Mudema and Niambly Communities in recognition of his relentless youth empowerments and generosity to all and sundries.


7. Ojikpururu I of Amono Kingdom. A Chieftaincy title crowned on him by Ukpa Community as a reward of his exceptional contributions to community development, philanthropic gestures and provision of social amenities.


8. Award of Excellence for Peace, Educational and Administrative Service to Humanity by the Women in Colleges of Education, Oju Chapter in 2021.


9. Pillar of Community Development Award. An award of honour bestowed on him in 2022 by the Omi Ny'Igede, the apex socio-cultural organisation in Igede society for his extraordinary efforts and sacrifices in promoting the culture of community development in Igede land.


10. The Most recent award is the Ojikpururu Ny'Igede bestowed on him by the Igede Intermediate Area Traditional Council during the 2022 Edition of Igede Agba Festival and Award Ceremony.


11. And many more.


Chief Joseph Ajah Onah has indeed over the time demonstrated love and generosity for mankind through his uncommon philanthropic gestures to all and sundries. No wonder, his sterling personality and achievements keep attracting numerous recognitions in terms of chieftaincy titles, awards of honour, promotion and other accolades.


Chief (Amb.) Joseph Onah loves reading, socialising, swimming and travelling as his hobbies.


Chief (Amb.) Joseph Onah is happily married to Vivian Ogugua Onah and blessed with 3 children.
