It appears people knew the late sage, Chief Onah Isaac Ejugwu more for the number of children and the large family God blessed him with. As one of the early Igede indigenes that was recognized as officer under the Colonial Native Authority in Otukpo Division and was made a Chief. Also, people tend to identify him more as a renowned farmer, a community leader and an orator of Uje-Anchim extraction that shot himself to lime light in Igede nation. But few knew little about his government work, he was the first Area Court Judge in Igede. He retired in 1984 as an Upper Area Court Judge. He got his National Diploma in Jurisprudence from the Institute of Administration, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He worked in different parts of Idoma including Otukpo, Agatu, Utonkon, Ugboju and Igede land both in Oju and Obi. After retiring from service, he returned to live in his community, Uje, where he spent his remaining life time attending to Igede traditional matters especially in conflict resolutions across entire Igede land. He was a mobile Encyclopedia of Igede culture and tradition. He won the best Family Award in Igede in 1995 under the FSP program of the First Lady, Mrs. Grace Obademi, the wife of military governor, Joshua Obademi. At the State level, he took the 7th position to the honour and glory of God.
He died in 2007.
