The coast is not clear, while some are celebrating the victory of Hon Obo Egbodo, others are wondering why the celebration when the real litigation is about to start from Hon Ogewu. At the end of the day; Oju/Obi HOR will not be vacant and Igede nation will win–so a big congratulation to the good people of Igede.
Chawowo anu kpehe, the kind of prayers that is said by political adherents of OBO AND OGEWU on social media since the verdict from the High Court till now is massive. Some have resorted to poem, coded quotes, parables, proverbs and clumsy sayings. If half of it is done concerning Awajir-Oju road, Governor Ortom would have issue another marching order to the contractors; if he is not so busy with G5 meetings and cruising with the dancing/music maestro- Governor Wike, remember his hit track– “as e dey pain dem, e dey sweet us”. The prayers are multifarious, that one wonders if they are necessary request to God of heaven.
My concern–is God of heaven really interested in politics like that? Some Bible students will answer in the affirmative, because world government is ordained by God–hmmm as in ehh, for their mind. Let me close my ears before they will mention Daniel in Babylon and Joseph in Egypt. We serve the purposes of God, not the politics of men that are in continuous battle and unending litigation. This issue of court case is alien to Igede political space and economically counterproductive. We must refuse to let our faith be co-opted by political powers and principalities, even though we have our civil obligations for electing leaders.
What does the Bible say about political or secular leadership and followers of Christ? Apostle Paul, Peter, James and John are not around to answer. Maybe we think Billy Graham is not popular in USA or Reinhard Bonnke in Germany or Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Pastor William Kumuyi not popular enough to win elections in Nigeria? Is the aspiration of Hon Egbodo and Hon Ogewu the same as Christian social service?
Let us stop all the prayers and quoting of Bible passages, because God is not interested in politics like we are. God will not punish any of the supporters, just because they have different alliance. We have many things to cry to God in Igede, like infrastructural development, long life, prosperity and unity. Let us spare God and allow Him to attend to other important things and allow APC to sort out who is illegal, who cut corners and who refused to follow the rules of INEC.
By the time they finish their fight or decide who will liberate us–Igede nation will emerge as a winner.
Is a vawulence free Friday.
