EKURWE: IN HONOR OF A MEDIA MODEL–MR IPOLE OHINI

A Beacon of Tolerance, Peace, Broadmindedness, Progressiveness and Non-judgmental demeanour.

LATE IPOLE OHINI was a household name in the LIBERATION AGENDA of Hon David Ogewu (MP OJU/OBI), and an unwavering personality as far as the movement is concern. He was not like the desperate, discourteous, loutish media handlers that believed that the chief role is to attack any person with contrary view to the liberation agenda. He held in high premium the ideology of ‘an enemy today can be a friend tomorrow’.  He did not believe like other handlers that insulting people will give him a laurel in the liberation camp.

He would have been alive to model the upcoming media handlers of the liberation team, but the sovereign Lord has invited him to the other side of eternity. We need to reflect on the remarkable values that made MR IPOLE OHINI an exemplary figure in the world of Igede political communication. His unwavering commitment to civility and tolerance set a high standard for all of us, especially in a time when political discourse can often be marked by hostility and divisiveness.

MR IPOLE OHINI was more than just a spokesperson; he was a bridge builder, a true diplomat in the realm of public relations. His approach to communication was characterized by respect, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to the principles of democracy. He understood that a healthy democracy thrives when it embraces a diversity of voices and perspectives. He championed the idea that every Igede person’s point of view, regardless of their political affiliation, deserves respect and consideration.

In an era where the public square seems to be filled with harsh words and divisive rhetoric, MR IPOLE OHINI was a breath of fresh air. He always chose the path of respect and understanding, even when dealing with those whose opinions differed from his own. He had a gift for finding common ground and fostering meaningful dialogue, reminding us all that beneath the political labels, we are first and foremost Igede people with shared values and concerns.

Today, we must acknowledge that the current handlers of our esteemed politician's image have strayed far from the path of tolerance and civility that MR IPOLE OHINI had walked. They have embraced a style of communication that is brutal and insultive to those who are perceived as opposition. It is essential to remember that public discourse should not be a battleground but a forum for constructive discussion. By adopting a more confrontational and divisive approach, we risk alienating those who disagree with us and, in doing so, we undermine the very principles of democracy that we hold dear.

In bidding MR IPOLE OHINI farewell, we must also honor the values he stood for. Let his legacy serve as a reminder to all of us, especially those in the world of politics and media, that we can and should strive for a more tolerant, and respectful discourse. Let us return to his example, where civility guided every word and action. Only by doing so we can restore faith in the quest for a better Igede and the liberation agenda.

GOODBYE IPOLE OHINI –SEE YOU ON THE RESURRECTION MORNING.
