Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness and to put on the armour of light. The only light that our Saviour Jesus Christ came in human form to give and on which our liberation is secured. Help us to embrace that redemptive package by faith and hold on to it until you come the second time to take us home. Keep us alert and watchful in this week and beyond.
1 John 1:5-7
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” (NIV)
