Lord, thanks for the invitation to a holy meal with you in the world full of scarcity. Thanks for the privilege to be near to you my Lord and Saviour Christ Jesus. “Come and dine,” implies the same table, the same food; same drink, and to sit side by side, and lean our head on the Saviour. It is being brought into the banqueting-house, where the banner of redeeming love is experienced. “Come and dine,” gives the vision of union with Jesus, because the only food that we can feast on when we dine with Jesus is Himself. It is a depth which reason cannot fathom, Lord help me to cherish that in this week and even beyond.
John 21:12
