EKURWE: REVISED HISTORY OF IDOMA AND IGEDE BY IRENE ALECHENU ELLA

A lot of explanations have been done about IGEDE and IDOMA and what brought us together in the social media space in this few weeks of the crisis and I will not bother to emphasize that.

It was a marriage done by colonial masters for administrative convenience under what they called NATIVE AUTHORITY. We migrated from different places and on arrival, did not meet anybody, nor negotiate with anyone before we settled down in Igede land. The chiefdom created and recently reviewed by BENUE STATE will avail you more on the relationship that has nothing to do with biological or cultural heritage. Enough of that jareeee.

I feel ALECHENU ELLA should be schooled on the danger of rewriting historical narratives. Looking at his profile, he is a lawyer and attended good schools in good cities- Jos, ABU Zaria, and law school Lagos.

As a learned gentleman, it should be needless, but from his outings and emotional outbursts, it is expedient.

Note, ALECHENU, IDOMA AND IGEDE are Gentiles engrafted by Christ Jesus to the commonwealth of Israel by faith. So, let’s leave the sons of David from Judah or the sons of Lot, that will be a good idea for a comedy skit.

Lawyer ALECHENU ELLA,

Rewriting historical narratives to suit selfish agendas is a dangerous practice that can have severe and far-reaching consequences. This is because history is not just a collection of stories from the past, but a record of events that help us understand the present and shape the future. When individuals or groups attempt to revise history to serve their personal interests, they distort our understanding of the past, leading to confusion and misunderstanding about the present and future.

One of the biggest risks associated with rewriting historical narratives is the spread of misinformation. By distorting facts and selectively ignoring events, individuals and groups can create a false historical narrative that serves their selfish interests while erasing important events and perspectives from the past. This can lead to a distorted understanding of the past, making it difficult for people to make informed decisions as they navigate the present.

Another significant risk of revising historical narratives is the reinforcement of existing power structures. When groups rewrite history to serve their own interests, they often do so by reinforcing the dominant narratives of the time. This can perpetuate inequalities and injustices, providing a justification for continued discrimination and violence against marginalized groups.

Furthermore, rewriting history can also create a sense of division and hostility among people, leading to further polarization and conflict. When people hold different interpretations of history, it can be challenging to find common ground or to work towards a shared goal. This can lead to a breakdown in communication and collaboration, making it difficult to address current issues and challenges.

Instead of revising history, it is critical to acknowledge the complexity and diversity of the past, and to work towards creating an honest and inclusive narrative that reflects our shared values and experiences.

I hope you will not be mischievous in your next outing.
