Dr Pita Obam
I want to respond this way, the PDP primaries were not a contest between Oju and Obi politicians, it is a PDP family affair , in-house election to pick a flag-bearer that will beat any APC or any other party candidate in the general elections.
In PDP, we don’t know Ode or Oga, OJu or Obi, we only know ourselves as party men and women.
Among the delegates to the primaries were party men and women from Oju, and party men and women from Obi. These party members saw the need to elect an Aspirant who can win general elections and voted overwhelmingly for him to carry the party flag.
Party people, no matter where they come from (Oju or Obi), are united in their goal: that their party will NEVER loose.
Let’s get this straight so that we don’t make it look like a contest between Oju and Obi. It is NOT!
PDP is just trying to put their best wrestler forward to any Challenger.
Even in the general elections, we PDP members will not be voting along Oju or Obi line, we will be voting our own man, the favoured one, the Lion himself, Distinguished Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu!
We (Igede Nation), too want to be ranking Officer in National Assembly and nothing can stop this Agenda.
Let’s stop whipping sentiments. It is politics, party versus party, not Oju versus Obi.
For crying out loud, we have staunch members of PDP from Oju, who are determined to make our party win. The zonal Chairman of our great party is from Oju and so many other PDP political heavy weights.
It is no winner, no vanquished. Those who lost the primaries, should not be discouraged or think of leaving the party. The Umbrella can carry all of us. It is safer here. It is raining heavily outside.
Please, my Igede people, I beg us, let’s stop harping on this Oju-Obi dichotomy during political campaigns and be united as Igede people.
Congratulations, Rt Hon. Okwu. I know you have a large heart and you can carry everybody along.
Lekwa@Pita Obam
