In 1947 Idoma Division, made up of 22 districts was formulated/amalgamated, comprising Igede, Agatu, Akpa, Ochekwu & Utonkon as well as others by the Colonial Masters for mutuality and smooth running purposes, with the creation of Och'Idoma stool as their central authority.

In 1960, following the death of his father-in-law, the Ochi Idoma I HRH Ogiri Oko, 22 district heads within Idoma Native Authority met and chose Ajene Okpabi as Ochi Idoma II and was officially given a staff of office by Queen Elizabeth II.  HRH. Chief Abraham Ajene Okpabi an Igede man from Adum Ito became the Och'Idoma II of Idoma kingdom. His royal Highness, Agabaidu Abraham Ajene Okpabi, was born 1924 in Ito District of present day Obi local Government Area of Benue state.

In 1996 the Royal father, Chief Abraham Ajene Okpabi went on an expedition (hunting) and yet to return, having reigned for 35 uninterrupted years.
