EKURWE: WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ETUKWU?

One death too many–High Chief Etukwu Onah (Ugboji Oleega, SAN) and founder of the cliché ‘Ogba luudiyo’ –Killed or died of accident?

We searched high and low,

For answers we need to know,

What took our dear hero,

And left us feeling low.

We combed through evidence,

And searched every clue,

Hoping to find a reason,

For our hero’s adieu.

We questioned all who knew him,

And followed every lead,

But nothing seemed to surface,

No reason, no deed.

The nights were long and lonely,

As we pondered and thought,

Trying to unravel,

The mystery that’s sought.

We looked to the stars above,

And whispered our plea,

“Please show us what happened,

To bring our hero back.”

A hero with talents vast and skills untold,

He shone with brilliance, a story unfold,

Admired by many, revered by all,

His every step, a resounding call.

But fate’s cruel hand, unknown and sly,

Struck him down, with no reason why,

Untimely, mysterious, a tragic blow,

The land plunged into sorrow, a grieving woe.

Whispers spread, suspicion grew,

Who could have felled a man so true?

Inquiries made, but answers few,

His death, a puzzle, with no clue.

Rumors whispered of jealousy,

Of rivals plotting, in secrecy,

Envy’s venom, a venomous dart,

Did it pierce his noble heart?

Though his death remains a mystery,

His spirit lingers in history,

A legend born, a hero grand,

A son of the land, forever will stand.

Though our hearts still ache,

For the hero we’ve lost,

We take comfort in knowing,

That his legacy will never exhaust.

One thing is sure–God knows what actually happened and His WILL and JUSTICE must prevail.

KPAHI ME, THE FIRST SAN IN IGEDE LAND.
